Punk Baby Clothes? If you are like me you are probably wondering what in the world are punk baby clothes? It suprises me that the term "punk" is even used to describe a type of baby clothes in 2008. The punk movement itself is over thirty years old and in no way is related to the clothing we manufacture today. Why it continues to be used to describe a type of baby clothes is a mystery to me. Let me start by stating that we, as a company, are not responsible for everyones use of this term to describe this style of baby clothes. We are merely following what others have laid out before us. When we originally began to research this market we found others already using this phrase to describe their baby clothes and we also found that many of you were using the search phrase "punk baby clothes" when searching for hip onesies or cool toddler shirts. We obviously want the business coming to our site as well. So, we use the term on our site so you can find us. I sometimes feel that a more appropriate phrase to describe this genre of clothing should be "gothic or goth baby clothes" as this descriptive term is more relevant to the newer generation of moms and dads who are searching for this type of clothing for their infants. Since we sell so many black onesies it would seem to fit. But, this isn't really fair either as we still sell to plenty of people who were never and will never be "goth'. There are other keyword phrases that other companies in our market use to describe their clothing... Cool baby clothes, Hip baby clothes, Unique baby clothes, rock baby clothes, and several others. These phrases do get searched by consumers so we occasionally refer to our wears as such as well. More than anything else, I am frustrated that there is not a clear cut term to describe our style of baby clothing. We have settled on using "punk baby clothes" as a main descriptive phrase for our onesies and tees. Is it perfect? No. But, it's the best vague term we feel fits our clothing. I guess I just have to accept it. If you have a suggestion for what we should describe our clothing as... give me a shout. I'd love to hear from you.
